Heather Ruff Secor, OTR, JFBMFR, is a dedicated occupational therapist and integrative healthcare practitioner with nearly two decades of experience helping individuals improve function, mobility, and overall well-being. As the owner of Full of Life Therapies: Mind~Body~Soul in Livonia, Michigan, she provides personalized care that addresses the physical, emotional, and functional challenges that can impact daily life. Her approach extends beyond traditional rehabilitation, focusing on helping clients achieve lasting improvements in both health and quality of life.
Heather earned her Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Baker College of Flint and has spent approximately 19 years serving individuals across a wide range of ages and conditions. Throughout her career, she developed a strong interest in holistic and hands-on treatment methods that support the body's natural healing processes. This passion led her to pursue extensive advanced training in the John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Approach®, ultimately becoming a highly trained practitioner in the specialized technique.
Committed to continual professional growth, Heather expanded her expertise by becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist after graduating from Irene’s Myomassology Institute. She has also completed specialized training in Rapid Relief Technique, Somatic Release Breathwork, Relaxation Therapy, and other complementary modalities. By integrating these disciplines, she is able to provide comprehensive care tailored to each client's unique needs and goals.
In her practice, Heather works with infants, children, adults, and seniors experiencing a variety of challenges, including chronic pain, restricted movement, sports-related injuries, post-accident recovery, and stress or trauma-related conditions. Her treatment philosophy emphasizes the connection between the mind, body, and spirit, utilizing Myofascial Release, breathwork, and somatic techniques to support healing, improve function, and enhance overall wellness.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
I enjoy watching the transformations that my clients go through when healing their pain, traumas, past experiences, stress, anxiety, etc., and they can finally live their best lives. They get their quality of life back, with reduced pain on all levels, physically, mentally and emotionally and can return to doing the activities they love and are meaningful to them. When they can release all things that have been keeping them stuck for years, their energy shifts. Their walls come down, the sparkle returns to their eyes and they light up with pure joy and gratitude. They gain clarity, focus, and believe in themselves again. As a practitioner, it is a privilege to create a supportive environment and contribute to an individual's healing journey, while understanding the impactful role I play in my clients' lives.
