Hannah Pence, LCSW / Therapist

Hannah Pence is a licensed therapist practicing in Brownsburg, Indiana, with Jocelyn Therapy. Since beginning her clinical work in 2022, she has dedicated her career to supporting children, families, couples, and individuals navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and relational difficulties. She provides both in-person and telehealth services, with a strong focus on building authentic, individualized therapeutic relationships that foster trust, healing, and personal growth.

Prior to her current role, Hannah worked as a group therapist in recovery services with Evolve Indy, where she supported individuals in addiction recovery and mental health stabilization. Although she valued her experience in group work, she ultimately transitioned to individual therapy to develop deeper one-on-one connections with clients and address more personalized clinical needs. This shift allowed her to focus more intentionally on each client’s unique experiences, goals, and emotional healing process.

One of Hannah’s most notable professional accomplishments was creating the first dance therapy program at Bloomington Meadows Hospital, where she worked from 2021 to early 2025. In this role, she designed and facilitated expressive movement-based therapy for children, adolescents, and adults in psychiatric care settings. Her innovative approach integrated movement, emotional expression, and therapeutic support to help patients process trauma and improve emotional regulation.

Hannah’s clinical approach is grounded in a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), talk therapy, dance therapy, and creative arts interventions. She is passionate about helping clients reconnect with their emotions, their bodies, and their sense of identity. She believes therapy provides a safe space for individuals to explore their inner world, develop coping strategies, and experience meaningful emotional growth.

At the core of Hannah’s work is a deep belief in human connection and resilience. She views therapy as a collaborative journey where clients are empowered to feel seen, heard, and understood. Hannah is committed to helping individuals recognize their strengths, embrace healing, and cultivate self-compassion. For her, beginning therapy is not a sign of brokenness, but an act of courage and a meaningful step toward growth and self-discovery.

Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

What I enjoy most about practicing therapy is witnessing clients recognize the level of autonomy they have in their own lives. I find it incredibly meaningful when individuals begin to shift their perspective and realize how much their thoughts, choices, and mindset can shape their experiences. I value the opportunity to build genuine interpersonal connections with my clients and create a space where they feel seen, heard, and supported. To me, one of the most important aspects of therapy is helping individuals understand that their voice matters and that they have purpose and value.
