Her nursing education was deeply influenced by the institution’s legacy under the Sisters of St. Elizabeth, where she developed a patient-centered philosophy rooted in advocacy, reverence for human dignity, and compassionate care. She is currently completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing through American Sentinel College of Nursing, expected in 2026.

Throughout her career, Ellyn has remained committed to both clinical excellence and education. She previously served as an ICU and PACU nurse at St. Elizabeth Medical Center for over a decade before transitioning into long-term care and developmental services nursing with Upstate Caring Partners, where she later became an educator for both licensed and unlicensed staff. In her current role at Rome Health, she continues to mentor new PACU nurses and contributes to the Safe Staffing Committee, ensuring compliance with New York State staffing regulations and advocating for frontline nursing staff.

Ellyn is also a U.S. Navy veteran, having served from 1994 to 1996 aboard a destroyer tender out of Norfolk, with deployments to the Mediterranean. She is a member of the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the American Society of Peri-Anesthesia Nurses (ASPAN). Her professional philosophy is grounded in patient advocacy, dignity, and compassionate care, consistently emphasizing the importance of being a voice for patients during their most vulnerable moments.
