DeeAnn Grimes Saber, NMD

Naturopathic Doctor
Transformational Medicine PLLC
Tucson, AZ 85719

Dr. Saber is a naturopathic and functional medicine physician with approximately 18 years of clinical experience focused on whole-person, integrative care. She is a graduate of Bastyr University in Seattle and also has a 40-year background in bodywork, which shapes her structural and functional approach to medicine.

Her clinical practice centers on endocrinology and thyroid health, with additional expertise in women’s pelvic health and sexual wellness, chronic illness, and inflammatory conditions. She also treats complex, multi-system conditions including gastrointestinal disorders (such as IBS, GERD, SIBO, food sensitivities, and dysbiosis), chronic fatigue, brain fog, joint pain, and environmental illness such as mold exposure and Lyme disease.

Dr. Saber incorporates a wide range of integrative and functional modalities into her work, including ozone therapy (IV, insufflation, and injections), environmental medicine approaches, and targeted injection therapies such as ProloOzone and vitamin-based treatments for chronic conditions and pain management. Her approach emphasizes detailed diagnostic testing and individualized interpretation of lab results to identify root causes rather than symptom suppression.

Her professional journey is unconventional and spans international travel work in the former Soviet Union, where exposure to holistic “sanatorium” models of care inspired her interest in integrative medicine. After transitioning into bodywork and later medical training, she entered naturopathic medical school later in life and completed her doctorate at Bastyr University in 2006.

She co-founded Transformational Medicine in Tucson, Arizona, where she works alongside other practitioners including naturopathic physicians, massage therapists, and nursing professionals offering services such as IV therapy and colon hydrotherapy. The practice also incorporates advanced therapies such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy, red light therapy, peptide therapy, and specialized diagnostic testing including RGCC cancer-related panels, used in coordination with conventional oncology care.

In addition to clinical practice, she is involved in community outreach and charitable health initiatives supporting underserved populations. Her overall philosophy emphasizes identifying root causes of illness, individualized care, and restoring functional balance across hormonal, gastrointestinal, and immune systems through integrative medicine.

Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

I get to play medical detective, and I find that very interesting. I like the challenge. It keeps me on my toes, learning new things all the time. The idea of a person who comes with 20 different things - how do I take all that information, because we ask people to bring all their documents and I actually read them all, and then go, okay, here's what we found, here's the top 3 things we can do. Let's start with one, or we can start with three, but to bring all that data together into a plan that is workable for them. I think it's fun, actually. I like doing it.
