							Catherine Hamilton, RN, MSN, is an experienced Registered Nurse and dedicated healthcare leader currently serving as a House Supervisor at Sonoma Valley Hospital, a role she has held since 2014. With more than two decades of nursing experience, she has developed a reputation for providing compassionate, patient-centered care and for fostering teamwork and excellence among clinical staff. Catherine’s strong leadership and calm presence make her a trusted resource in managing hospital operations and ensuring high standards of patient safety and care quality.
Before joining Sonoma Valley Hospital, Catherine worked as a staff nurse at By The Bay Health, where she provided on-call support and specialized in hospice and palliative care. She also spent over a decade at Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital, where she gained extensive experience across multiple clinical settings. Her hands-on work in both acute and home health environments has deepened her understanding of the full spectrum of patient care—from hospital recovery to end-of-life support.
Catherine earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Clinical Nurse Leadership (CNL) from the University of San Francisco, Class of 2012, and began her nursing studies at Santa Rosa Junior College, where she continues to stay engaged in lifelong learning. Passionate about both leadership and mentorship, she is committed to guiding her teams with integrity, empathy, and professionalism while continuously striving to improve the patient experience and support the well-being of her colleagues.

What I enjoy most about practicing medicine is the opportunity to help people. Being able to make a difference in someone’s life—whether through care, comfort, or simply listening—is deeply rewarding and reminds me every day why I chose this profession.
