Asha Kuniyil, PT, DPT, is an experienced physical therapist with over two decades of clinical practice across diverse healthcare settings and patient populations. She has dedicated her career to providing compassionate, evidence-based care in geriatrics, pediatrics, and general rehabilitation, serving individuals with a wide range of physical conditions and functional needs.

She began her professional journey after earning her Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) in India in 2000. She later advanced her education by completing her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Utica College in 2019. Throughout her academic and professional development, she has remained committed to expanding her clinical knowledge and delivering high-quality patient care.

Asha has extensive experience working in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home care, and school-based settings. She spent approximately 10 years in nursing home care, followed by 6 years in assisted living facilities, where she continues to work in the evenings. In addition, she provides home care services for children with special needs and, since March 2024, has been working in public schools on Long Island, serving pediatric patients during the day while maintaining her geriatric care responsibilities in the evening. Her practice spans multiple counties in New York, including Queens, Bronx, Nassau, and Suffolk.

Throughout her career, Asha has remained deeply committed to patient-centered care despite personal challenges, including the loss of her husband while raising her daughter. She draws inspiration from her family and professional experiences and continues to focus on helping patients improve mobility, manage pain, and enhance their quality of life. Her clinical expertise includes treating conditions such as back pain, neck pain, and age-related mobility issues, reflecting her broad and versatile experience in physical therapy.
