Dr. Alexander Martin, OD, FAAO, is a highly accomplished optometrist and healthcare innovator with nearly a decade of clinical experience. He currently serves as Medical Director of the Lawrence location for Boston Vision and Chief Medical Officer of Eyebot, where he combines advanced clinical care with cutting-edge vision technology to improve access, efficiency, and patient outcomes in modern eye care.
In his role at Boston Vision, Dr. Martin leads a comprehensive ophthalmic and optometric practice focused on ocular disease management, refractive and post-surgical co-management, specialty contact lens fittings, low vision services, and myopia control. He is also the lead physician for a highly specialized dry eye referral clinic, where he treats complex cases using advanced therapies such as IPL, LLLT, serum tears, amniotic membranes, Lacrifill, scleral lenses, and compounded medications.
Dr. Martin’s work in dry eye disease has established him as a respected leader in the field, known for applying a scientific and evidence-based approach to patients often underserved or previously dismissed. With a high-volume clinical practice and a significant patient waitlist, he remains committed to delivering precise, personalized care while continuously seeking better treatment pathways for complex ocular surface disease.
As Chief Medical Officer of Eyebot, Dr. Martin plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of vision care delivery through technology. He oversees clinical integration, supports product development, and helps ensure regulatory alignment, including FDA-related processes. Dr. Martin’s academic foundation includes undergraduate degrees in Human Biology and Spanish from Michigan State University, followed by his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry.
