Dr. Alan K. Miller, MD, FACS

Dr. Alan K. Miller, MD, FACS, is a board-certified urologist based in Bradenton, Florida, with more than three decades of experience in clinical practice and surgical care. He currently practices at Urology Partners of Manatee, where he serves as a urologist and founding partner, and is also the founder and CEO of the Manatee Medical Research Institute. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for combining advanced urologic expertise with a strong commitment to patient-centered care, emphasizing individualized treatment and continuity of care.
Dr. Miller earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Haverford College before obtaining his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his surgical internship through the National Capital Consortium and went on to complete his urology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. He served in the United States Navy for approximately 12 years as a urologist, practicing across multiple domestic and international assignments, and ultimately retired at the rank of Commander, bringing extensive clinical and leadership experience from his military medical service.
His clinical expertise spans general and complex urology, including the treatment of prostate and bladder cancers, kidney stones, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), urinary incontinence, and minimally invasive urologic procedures. Over the course of his career, he has contributed to clinical research and medical education, authored peer-reviewed publications, and earned recognition as a “Top Doctor” in Sarasota Magazine across multiple years, as well as designation as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Known for his patient-focused philosophy, Dr. Miller continues to advocate for accessible, personalized urologic care through an independent practice model that prioritizes long-term physician–patient relationships.
