Dr. Alan K. Miller, MD, FACS
Dr. Alan K. Miller, MD, FACS, is a board-certified urologist based in Bradenton, Florida, with more than three decades of experience in clinical practice, surgical care, and medical leadership. He is a founding partner at Urology Partners of Manatee and the founder and CEO of the Manatee Medical Research Institute. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Miller has been recognized for combining advanced urologic expertise with a strong commitment to patient-centered care, emphasizing individualized treatment plans, continuity of care, and long-term physician–patient relationships.
Dr. Miller earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Haverford College before completing his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He then completed his surgical internship through the National Capital Consortium, followed by a urology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. His extensive postgraduate training laid the foundation for a career defined by both clinical excellence and leadership in complex medical environments.
He served approximately 12 years in the United States Navy as a urologist, where he practiced in multiple domestic and international assignments. During his military medical service, he advanced to the rank of Commander, gaining significant experience in both clinical operations and healthcare leadership. This service strengthened his commitment to disciplined, high-quality, and mission-driven patient care.
Dr. Miller’s clinical expertise includes general and complex urology, with a focus on prostate and bladder cancers, kidney stones, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), urinary incontinence, and minimally invasive urologic procedures. He is also active in clinical research and medical education, contributing to peer-reviewed publications and advancing knowledge in the field. He has been consistently recognized as a “Top Doctor” in Sarasota Magazine and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, reflecting his dedication to excellence in urologic care.
In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Miller remains committed to advancing accessible, personalized urologic care through an independent practice model. His approach emphasizes evidence-based medicine, innovation, and compassionate care tailored to each patient’s needs, ensuring high-quality outcomes and trusted continuity of care.
