Aiida Grant, BSN, RN, CCRN
Aiida Grant is a dedicated registered nurse specializing in emergency, trauma, and critical care nursing, with a career rooted in both direct patient care and nursing education. She has been a nurse since October 2014 and currently works in a high-acuity emergency department within Los Angeles County, where she provides trauma and emergency care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Her healthcare journey began long before becoming an RN, starting as a psychiatric technician, a role she held for 12 years. She later pursued her nursing education at Mt. San Antonio College, earning her Associate Degree in Nursing, and went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at California State University, San Marcos. Her clinical passion for critical care was sparked during ICU training, where she developed a strong interest in managing complex, life-threatening conditions and supporting patients through recovery.
Aiida specializes in trauma and emergency nursing, with expertise in areas such as ventilator management, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), and high-acuity patient stabilization. She is a Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and actively integrates evidence-based practice into her clinical decision-making. She is also committed to patient and family advocacy, ensuring that patients’ loved ones are informed, supported, and reassured throughout the care process.
In addition to her clinical practice, Aiida is deeply involved in nursing leadership and professional development. She serves as Membership Chair for the AACN Inland Empire Chapter and is Chair of the Emergency Department Medication Safety Task Force, where she leads initiatives to improve medication safety and enhance patient outcomes through interdisciplinary collaboration. She is also an active member of the Emergency Nurses Association.
Aiida has come full circle in her career by returning to Mt. San Antonio College as a nursing professor, where she now mentors and educates the next generation of nurses. She brings real-world emergency and ICU experience into the classroom, helping students bridge the gap between theory and practice. She is passionate about building clarity, confidence, and purpose in healthcare professionals, believing that meaningful impact happens when discipline, leadership, and compassion align.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I enjoy most about nursing is the diversity and complexity of critical care. I appreciate that this field offers so many different modalities and pathways, which keeps the work both challenging and meaningful. What is especially rewarding to me is seeing patients progress from their most critical, vulnerable moments toward recovery and improvement. I care for individuals from all walks of life facing a wide range of conditions, including DKA, ventilator management, and other high-acuity medical challenges.
I am also deeply committed to patient and family advocacy. It is important to me to help patients and their loved ones understand what is happening, answer their questions, and clearly explain medications and procedures. In moments when families feel overwhelmed or uncertain, being able to guide and support them through the experience is one of the most meaningful parts of my role.
