Adenike Popoola, MSN, FNP-C, CRNP, APRN, is a dedicated and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner with 12 years of nursing experience, including more than six years as a nurse practitioner. A graduate of Georgetown University’s Family Nurse Practitioner program, she has built a diverse clinical background spanning family medicine, urgent care, acute care, primary care, telehealth, home health, wound care, IV infusion therapy, and medical-surgical nursing. Licensed to practice in Maryland, she is committed to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals and families across the lifespan.
Driven by a passion for improving access to quality healthcare, Popoola founded Pinnacle Family Care Practice in Owings Mills, Maryland, four years ago. Under her leadership, the practice has grown to include three practitioners and specializes in family medicine and weight management services. Recognizing the increasing need for mental health support within her community, she is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in mental health nursing at Walden University, with plans to complete the program by the end of 2026. Her goal is to provide integrated care that addresses both the physical and mental health needs of her patients. She also maintains affiliations with Sinai Hospital and Northwest Hospital, further extending her ability to serve the community.
Originally from Nigeria, Popoola has lived and practiced in Maryland for more than 20 years. Her journey into healthcare began when she became the primary caregiver for her frail grandmother at the age of 20, an experience that inspired her lifelong commitment to caring for others with empathy and compassion. A member of both the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland, she believes that dedication, consistency, focus, and compassion are the cornerstones of exceptional healthcare. Looking ahead, she plans to earn her doctorate, expand Pinnacle Family Care Practice to multiple locations, and continue making a meaningful impact on the lives of the patients and communities she serves.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I love about nursing in general is the ability to be able to talk to someone and meet them at the point of their needs, in terms of health-wise, and counseling them. I'm able to provide that empathetic type of care, meaning that I put myself into their situations, and they see that I accept them. I put myself in their situation and care for them accordingly - no discrimination, no stigmatization. I see people in their low state, and I'm able to care for them and meet them where they are. That is what is even keeping people to come back. If you check our website online and the reviews, that speaks a lot too, because patients feel that empathetic connection and acceptance.
