Wardah Bajwa, MBBS, BSc, IM
Dr. Wardah Bajwa, MBBS BSc IM, is a clinical researcher and aspiring internist with expertise in gastroenterology and Parkinson’s disease. She graduated from Fatima Jinnah Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, after completing pre-medical studies at Stony Brook University in the United States. Following her medical degree, she practiced medicine for three years at Shadara Hospital and Bajwa Hospital in Lahore before returning to the U.S. in 2017. Currently, she is applying for residency positions, including interviews for Howard University Hospital Internal Medicine, though she is not yet enrolled in a CGME-accredited program.
Since April 2025, Dr. Bajwa has served as a clinical researcher at Howard University Hospital’s Cancer Center, where she conducts cancer research, clinical trials, and retrospective studies in gastroenterology and oncology. She has also received grants from Penn to conduct health workshops and is certified in Effective Writing and Healthcare through Harvard University. Her scholarly work includes two peer-reviewed publications (2023 and 2024) and two abstract submissions related to inflammatory bowel disease and esophageal cancer. She is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the American College of Physicians (ACP), American Medical Association (AMA), Harvard University’s Washington Club, Pakistan Medical Council, and AAPNA.
Dr. Bajwa’s passion for medicine stems from her early desire to save lives and contribute to the field’s noble mission. She emphasizes the importance of balancing analytical skills with empathy, resilience, and faith as guiding forces in her career. Her near-term goal is to integrate into the U.S. medical system through a residency program, and her long-term ambitions include mentoring international medical graduates and pursuing leadership roles in healthcare AI, supporting other physicians navigating the path from international medical schools to the U.S. healthcare system.
