Dr. Ibrahim Walid, MD, MBBS, FACC, is a distinguished Interventional Cardiologist and accomplished academic physician currently serving as the Associate Medical Director and Interventional Cardiologist at Jackson North Hospital in Miami, Florida. With extensive expertise in performing complex cardiac interventional procedures—including left and right heart catheterization, primary PCI, Impella and intra-aortic balloon pump support, and embolectomy—he is recognized for his clinical excellence and commitment to advancing cardiovascular care. Dr. Walid is also board-certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Medicine, Internal Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, and Medical Quality.

Dr. Walid completed his Interventional Cardiology and General Cardiology fellowships at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami, following earlier training as Chief Resident of Quality and Patient Safety at the VA in Detroit and Internal Medicine residency at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center. His international medical career began at the University of Khartoum in Sudan and continued through extensive postgraduate training at Weill Cornell Medical College–affiliated programs in Doha, Qatar. His broad clinical foundation reflects over a decade of medical practice across diverse healthcare systems in the Middle East and the United States.

In addition to his clinical roles, Dr. Walid is deeply invested in medical education. He currently serves as an Associate Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Ross University School of Medicine and has held previous academic appointments at Wayne State University School of Medicine and Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar. He has contributed significantly to medical training through teaching, mentoring, and participation in quality-improvement initiatives, particularly in patient safety, hospital medicine, and the optimization of clinical workflows.

A prolific researcher and published author, Dr. Walid has contributed numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, abstracts, and case reports across cardiology, internal medicine, and hospital quality improvement. He serves on the Editorial Board of Clinical Trials in Degenerative Diseases and has been recognized with multiple awards, including Best Presentation at the First Qatar Conference of Internal Medicine and distinction as a Leading Physician of the World. His professional memberships include the American College of Cardiology—where he is a Fellow (FACC)—the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Walid is widely respected for his clinical leadership, dedication to academic medicine, and commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered cardiovascular care.
