Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

What I love most about being a nurse practitioner is the ability to treat the whole patient and help them recognize that life doesn’t end with a diagnosis or a period of addiction. Many patients may not fully understand what they are experiencing, especially in addiction medicine, but when I can guide them to see hope, a path forward, and agree to follow a treatment plan, it’s incredibly rewarding. I find joy in seeing smiles on my patients’ faces and knowing I’ve helped them envision a future beyond their current struggles.
