Victoria Whatley, MS, LPC-S, ADHD-CCSP, is a licensed professional counselor and the founder of Good Vibes Counseling and Wellness, LLC, a private practice centered on trauma recovery, neurodiversity, and empowerment through innovative, evidence-based care. Licensed in both Oklahoma and South Carolina, Victoria brings warmth, compassion, and clinical expertise to her work with clients of all ages. Since opening her practice in September 2023, she has built an inclusive environment that blends in-person and virtual counseling in a space intentionally designed to support sensory needs and emotional safety. Her approach emphasizes authenticity, connection, and healing—values that reflect both her personal and professional journey. Victoria’s path to mental health counseling began in early childhood education and behavioral health, where she worked as a case manager before transitioning into clinical practice. She holds a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mid-America Christian University and a bachelor’s degree from Colorado Technical University, graduating with highest honors, Summa Cum Laude. Over the years, she has gained extensive training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, hypnotherapy, art therapy, Cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy.  Integrating these modalities with mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral techniques. Her dedication to neurodivergent advocacy is deeply personal, inspired by her own child’s experience with severe ADHD—an influence that ultimately led her to earn certification as a Clinical Certified ADHD Professional (ADHD-CCSP). Beyond her clinical work, Victoria is a recognized educator, speaker, and advocate for trauma-informed and neurodivergent-inclusive care. She played a pivotal role in bringing Brainspotting training to Oklahoma through collaboration with Dr. Pie Frey, one of the leading trainers under Brainspotting’s founder, Dr. David Grand. A member of both the American Counseling Association and the National Alliance on Mental Illness, she frequently presents at national and international conferences, including an upcoming session at the Third Annual Conference in Cancun, where she will speak on rejection sensitivity dysphoria (RSD). Her forthcoming book, Breaking Free from Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria, set for release in 2026, merges clinical insight with practical strategies to help individuals reclaim self-worth and emotional balance. Looking ahead, Victoria visions expanding Good Vibes Counseling and Wellness into a full-service agency that offers a supportive workplace for clinicians and exceptional care for every client who walks through the door.

Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

What I enjoy most about practicing mental health care is the privilege of witnessing transformation at the human level. I get to sit with people in moments of vulnerability—often when they feel misunderstood, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves—and help them make sense of what their nervous system is doing rather than seeing themselves as “broken.”

I find deep meaning in helping clients connect the dots between their lived experiences, their brain and body responses, and their current patterns. When a client realizes that their anxiety, emotional reactivity, or shutdown is not a character flaw, but an adaptive response shaped by trauma, neurodivergence, or chronic stress, something shifts. Shame softens, self-compassion grows, and real change becomes possible.

I also enjoy the blend of science and humanity that mental health work requires. Integrating neuroscience, somatic awareness, and evidence-based interventions—such as Brainspotting—allows me to support healing at a depth that talk therapy alone often cannot reach. There is something incredibly rewarding about watching a client regulate in real time, gain insight without force, and reclaim a sense of agency over their internal world.

Equally meaningful to me is supporting future clinicians through supervision and education. Helping other providers build confidence, clinical intuition, and ethical grounding multiplies the impact of the work far beyond my own caseload.

Ultimately, what I enjoy most is creating a safe, attuned space where people can be fully human—where pain is honored, resilience is recognized, and healing is approached with curiosity, respect, and hope.
