Veronica Maldonado, RN

Veronica Maldonado is a dedicated Registered Nurse with 15 years of experience, currently serving patients at Wurzbach Nursing and Rehabilitation in the San Antonio area. She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from San Antonio College School of Nursing in 2011 and is completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington, with plans to graduate in 2025. Veronica is certified in rehabilitation nursing (CRRN) and as a FEMA nurse, reflecting her commitment to specialized, high-quality patient care and emergency preparedness.

Before transitioning into nursing, Veronica built a strong foundation in healthcare administration. She worked as a supervisor for a bariatric general surgery practice with five surgeons and played a key role in launching a community health center in Austin that grew from zero to 10,000 patients, including the development of a refugee clinic. Her early career experiences shaped her deep understanding of both patient care and healthcare systems, while also fueling her passion for serving diverse and underserved populations. A member of the Human Rights Advocacy Group in the United States and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, Veronica remains actively engaged in advancing equitable care and professional excellence.

Veronica’s journey is defined by resilience, compassion, and an unwavering drive to help others heal and thrive. Balancing full-time work and full-time studies, she overcame financial challenges to achieve her goals, demonstrating remarkable perseverance. Her passion for rehabilitation nursing began early in life, growing up on a ranch where she developed a natural instinct to care for others—whether animals or people. Known for her instinct to run toward those in need, Veronica approaches every patient with empathy, strength, and dedication, embodying her belief that with persistence and heart, anything is possible.
