Tracy Marsh, LPN

Tracy Marsh, LPN, is a dedicated healthcare professional with more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare field and over two decades as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Currently serving on the medical-surgical floor at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia, Tracy is known for her compassion, resilience, and commitment to patient advocacy—particularly in the area of mental health. She is also completing the final semester of her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/RN) at Paul D. Camp Community College in Franklin, Virginia, marking the next step in her ongoing professional growth.

Tracy’s path to nursing was shaped by a diverse career that began in corrections. After working as a juvenile detention officer and later as a corrections officer in both New Jersey and North Carolina, she frequently found herself assigned to prison infirmaries. Her curiosity about patient care led her to ask nurses about medications, procedures, and treatment methods—sparking a passion that ultimately led her to pursue nursing. She later earned her Licensed Practical Nurse certification from Tidewater Technical School in 2005, graduating with honors and recognition in Who’s Who Among American College Students. Since then, she has built extensive experience in behavioral health, medical-surgical care, geriatric nursing, and occupational health.

Throughout her career, Tracy has demonstrated a deep commitment to continuous learning and patient care. She has completed additional training in phlebotomy and medical coding and billing, further expanding her clinical and administrative knowledge. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she served as a travel nurse in nursing homes, where she witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of the virus—an experience that strengthened her resolve to provide compassionate care during times of crisis. Tracy attributes her success to her willingness to keep learning, adapt to new healthcare practices, and remain dedicated to the patients she serves every day.
