Tracy Cornelius, LPC-S
Tracy Cornelius, LPC, MA, is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been practicing since 2011, bringing a depth of experience shaped by more than 20 years of military service. Her professional journey began in the medical field while serving in the military, but after transitioning out, physical injuries and credential limitations led her to reevaluate her path. What ultimately drew her to counseling was witnessing fellow service members return from deployment profoundly changed—physically wounded and emotionally impacted. Determined to remain in a helping role, Tracy committed herself to mental health care, recognizing the critical need for compassionate, skilled support for those navigating trauma and life transitions.
Tracy now owns and operates Cedar of Vitality Counseling Services, where she provides both in-person and online therapy. She primarily works with adults and individuals, with a strong focus on marital counseling and supporting clients through a wide range of life stressors. She is certified in Narcissistic Abuse Treatment and has recently recertified for an additional two years. Her clinical background includes extensive training in trauma-informed care, complex trauma, and trauma bonding in relationships involving violating partners. Tracy accepts Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Aetna insurance, and is currently in the process of credentialing with Optum and Tricare. She also serves clients through BetterHelp and Psychology Today.
Beyond her private practice, Tracy is deeply committed to community education and outreach. She volunteers extensively through her church, where she leads a multidisciplinary mental health team that includes physicians and nurses. Together, they deliver mental health education to diverse audiences—from elementary school children to adults—through workshops, health fairs, and symposium-style events with breakout sessions tailored to individual interests. Tracy has also been featured on KSAT News discussing narcissistic abuse, further reflecting her dedication to advocacy, education, and empowering individuals and communities through mental health awareness.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
I'm driven to see others do well and to overcome obstacles. I guess it's just like my own history and background - I just want to see people be able to work through things and let them know that there's hope out there, there's help out there, and they don't have to suffer alone. That's what really motivates me in this work.
