Dr. Thuy Hanh Trinh, MD, MBA is a contracted physician with Houston Hospice and works per diem at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic to maintain her primary care practice skills. She brings over 23 years of experience in family medicine, geriatrics, and hospice & palliative care, combining clinical expertise with compassionate, patient-centered care. Dr. Trinh holds certifications from the Hospice Medical Director Certification Board® and the National Alliance of Wound Care & Ostomy®, reflecting her commitment to excellence in complex and end-of-life care.
Dr. Trinh’s clinical approach emphasizes comprehensive primary care across the illness continuum—supporting patients managing chronic conditions who are pursuing curative care, as well as providing comfort-focused care for those with terminal illness. She prioritizes clear communication with patients and families, practical symptom and wound management, and guidance on goals of care. Her focus on holistic care ensures that both patients and families receive the support they need throughout the healthcare journey.
Dr. Trinh completed a family medicine residency and a geriatrics fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine, followed by hospice and palliative medicine training at MD Anderson. She also earned an MBA from the University of Houston and completed an executive education program in Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare at MIT Sloan (Nov 2025). With 18 years of service at Houston Hospice and additional experience maintaining her primary care practice, Dr. Trinh combines clinical excellence, leadership, and innovation to advance patient care while mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals. She credits her parents’ resilience and their counsel—“learn what you can when you can”—as a guiding principle for lifelong learning and perseverance, which continues to inspire her approach to medicine and mentorship.
