Dr. Thomas Cooper, DNP, APRN, ACNP-BC, FNP-C, MBA, PLNC
Dr. Thomas Cooper, DNP, APRN, ACNP-BC, FNP-C, MBA, PLNC, is a highly accomplished nurse practitioner and educator specializing in acute care, critical care, and hospitalist medicine. With dual certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Cooper has extensive clinical experience in ICU, emergency, and hospitalist settings, where he provides advanced, patient-centered care for diverse populations. His clinical focus emphasizes rural and frontier medicine, ensuring high-quality healthcare delivery to communities with unique challenges and needs.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Cooper serves as an Associate Professor at Christian Brothers University, where he teaches Adult Health II and mentors the next generation of nursing professionals. Over the years, he has guided countless students toward successful careers in healthcare, finding fulfillment in their growth and achievements. He also maintains a part-time practice as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with ApolloMD, where he continues to refine his clinical skills while contributing to patient care and hospital operations.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Cooper is passionate about leadership, education, and community engagement. He has published research on nursing education and presented on topics such as Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome and Rabies prevention at national conferences. Outside of work, he enjoys target sports, including skeet and sporting clays, reflecting his love for precision, focus, and discipline. What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I enjoy most about my practice is the opportunity to care for patients in high-acuity and complex clinical settings while also contributing to the development of future healthcare leaders. Balancing clinical practice with teaching allows me to remain deeply engaged in patient care while shaping the next generation of nurses.
