Terry Guido
Terry Guido (She/Her) is an accomplished Pathology Scientist and Biospecimen Manager with more than two decades of experience in biotechnology, laboratory operations, and neuropathology research. She is currently affiliated with Roche Molecular Systems in Pleasant Hill, California, where she oversees biorepository operations and biospecimen management. Known for her diligence and precision, Terry has led cross-functional laboratory initiatives, implemented advanced instrumentation, managed regulatory compliance (OSHA, GLP, ISO, QSR), and supported successful safety, quality, and regulatory audits. Her expertise spans immunohistochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, animal model characterization, quantitative image analysis, and the strategic oversight of preclinical and clinical biological sample repositories.
Terry spent nearly 21 years in medical technology and laboratory management at Elan Pharmaceuticals, where she played a pivotal role in neuropathology research and laboratory leadership. Beginning in histology lab services, she advanced alongside the evolving science to become deeply involved in Alzheimer’s disease research. She was instrumental in characterizing one of the first transgenic mouse models of Alzheimer’s-like pathology (PDAPP), helping define disease onset, progression, and neuropathological markers. Her specialization in image analysis—quantifying dystrophic neurites and pathological burden—contributed to efficacy studies, FDA filings, and publications. Following the transition of Elan’s Alzheimer’s Immunotherapy Program to Janssen Alzheimer Immunotherapy Research and Development, Terry served in dual roles, supporting both organizations in neuropathology operations, outsourcing strategy, contract management, and budget forecasting. Her work contributed to the eventual licensing and market release of an Alzheimer’s vaccine therapy.
Throughout her career, Terry has been recognized for her leadership, ethical integrity, and operational excellence. She has negotiated vendor and CRO contracts, implemented sample and reagent databases, designed laboratory spaces, overseen equipment transfers and recalibrations, and mentored junior scientists. A Laboratory Safety Committee member and trusted collaborator, she is known for her ability to balance scientific rigor with strategic resource management. Her achievements have earned her multiple Elan Awards of Excellence and the Janssen Encore Award for special achievement. With a master’s degree from University of California, Davis, Terry remains a respected figure in biotechnology, neuroscience research, and biospecimen operations.
