Taylor Scott, LGPC
Taylor Scott, LGPC, is a dedicated mental health counselor committed to helping individuals and families navigate life’s emotional challenges. Originally from Mobile, Alabama, Scott earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Jackson State University before completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Bowie State University in May 2025. She began seeing clients as an intern in January 2024 during her graduate program and obtained her Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) credential in August 2025. Today, she provides therapy through Wright Mindset Therapy Services, LLC and CL Counseling, LLC in the Washington DC–Baltimore area, where she supports a diverse range of clients across different life stages.
Scott specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults, while also expanding her experience with adult clients. Her clinical focus includes anxiety, depression, trauma, and self-esteem, with a growing passion for supporting individuals within the LGBTQ+ community as they explore identity, confidence, and emotional well-being. Using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and play therapy, she tailors each session to meet the unique needs of her clients. Scott’s therapeutic style is compassionate, collaborative, and adaptable, allowing her to create a safe environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.
Scott’s passion for supporting young people has been a consistent thread throughout her life. Before becoming a therapist, she worked with children as an assistant and summer camp counselor and originally began college as an education major. Realizing she wanted to support students beyond the classroom, she transitioned to psychology to pursue counseling. In addition to her clinical work, she contributes to a vocational program in Washington, D.C., where she helps train staff in de-escalation techniques and coping strategies for students experiencing school refusal, emotional instability, and behavioral challenges. Through her work in therapy and community programs alike, Scott continues to advocate for mental health awareness and equip individuals with the tools they need to thrive.
