Taylor’s professional philosophy emphasizes connecting with patients on multiple levels—physically, emotionally, and mentally—while fostering trust and empowerment in their healthcare journey. As a member of the Oncology Nursing Association and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), she continues to advance her skills and knowledge, ensuring best practices in patient care. What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
I love the complexity of nursing and how so many different aspects work together. A patient's status isn't just one thing - whether it's labs, symptoms, or medications, they all impact each other, and you have to think about all the separate aspects to help get to the outcome that you want. I think that complexity and that it's difficult makes it very rewarding for me, and worth it. It's rewarding when I can help a patient, even as a nurse on the floor or as a provider, and they look at me and say thank you, I would have never thought you would take the time and consideration, or take care of my family member the way that you have. A lot of times, it gives them hope - you give me the hope that my family member or that I could get better. Hearing things like that is just so rewarding.
