Tasha Gaskins, NP
Tasha Gaskins, NP is a dedicated advanced practice registered nurse specializing in substance use disorder treatment and community-centered recovery care. She currently practices at WV Wellness and Recovery, where she provides comprehensive medication-assisted treatment, including Suboxone and Vivitrol therapy, alongside counseling-based services and structured recovery programming designed to support patients in achieving sustainable sobriety and long-term wellness.
Her clinical philosophy is grounded in compassion, accessibility, and relationship-based care. Tasha is committed to meeting patients where they are in their recovery journeys, building strong therapeutic alliances, and serving as both an advocate and source of encouragement for the individuals and families within the community she proudly serves. She believes that recovery is strengthened through trust, consistency, and individualized care that restores dignity and improves quality of life.
Tasha earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marshall University in 2013 and began her career in emergency medicine at Holzer Emergency Department in Gallipolis, Ohio. She expanded her clinical expertise through critical care ground transport and later returned to emergency medicine during the COVID-19 pandemic, answering the call for experienced frontline providers during a time of extraordinary need.
She completed her Nurse Practitioner education at Marshall University in 2020 while balancing advanced clinical training with professional and family responsibilities. Following graduation, Tasha gained additional experience in primary care and hospitalist medicine with Pleasant Valley, where she simultaneously served as both a registered nurse and nurse practitioner, further strengthening her clinical versatility and leadership skills.
Tasha’s passion for healthcare began early in life following a traumatic childhood accident that introduced her to the profound impact of compassionate medical care. Inspired by her aunt, a nurse she deeply admired, she developed a lifelong commitment to serving others. After overcoming a severe COVID-19 illness that required extended hospitalization, she gained an even deeper appreciation for patient vulnerability, resilience, and the transformative power of empathetic care.
Today, Tasha finds her greatest professional fulfillment in substance use disorder treatment. She prescribes evidence-based medication-assisted therapies, supports structured recovery initiatives such as the 766 program, and celebrates each milestone achieved by her patients. She believes that true success in healthcare extends beyond clinical outcomes—it is reflected in restored hope, renewed purpose, and the lasting recovery of every patient she has the privilege to serve.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I find most rewarding in my career is witnessing my patients succeed in their recovery journeys. There is no greater fulfillment than seeing the pride and emotion in a patient’s eyes as they express gratitude and recognize their own progress. While they are the ones doing the hard work, it is truly an honor to support, encourage, and walk alongside them as they achieve lasting success.
Throughout my career, I have gained diverse clinical experience spanning ranging from emergency medicine, critical care ground transports, primary care, hospitalist, to substance use disorder treatment. Each role has shaped my perspective as a provider, but I feel I am making the most meaningful impact in my work at WV Wellness and Recovery, where compassionate care and recovery-centered treatment change lives every day.
