Dr. Tarek Dakakni, MD serves as Medical Director of Neurocritical Care and Acute Care Neurology at Northeast Georgia Health System, where he leads the neurocritical care team and oversees the delivery of comprehensive neurological services. In this role, he works across multiple campuses to enhance care for patients with complex and life-threatening neurological conditions. His leadership blends clinical precision with a commitment to improving systems of care and supporting multidisciplinary collaboration.

Dr. Dakakni earned his medical degree from Damascus University Faculty of Medicine, followed by an Internal Medicine internship and a Neurology residency at Temple University Hospital. He further specialized with a fellowship in Critical Care Anesthesiology at Duke University Hospital. Board-certified in Neurology, he brings advanced expertise in the management of critically ill neurological patients and holds several active medical licenses across the United States.

With more than two decades of experience, Dr. Dakakni is recognized for his skill in treating stroke, traumatic brain injury, cerebrovascular disease, neuro-oncology cases, hydrocephalus, and other conditions involving the brain and spinal cord. Through his work at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, he remains dedicated to advancing neurocritical care, integrating evidence-based medicine with compassionate, patient-centered approaches to deliver the highest quality of neurological treatment.
