Suzanne Flanders, PMHN, RN, BSN

Suzanne Flanders, PMHN, RN, BSN, is a dedicated psychiatric nurse and clinical educator with extensive experience in mental health care. She currently serves as a Registered Nurse at Mid Michigan College, providing high-quality care to patients while also mentoring the next generation of nursing professionals. Suzanne has over a decade of experience in psychiatric nursing, including roles at MyMichigan Health and Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, where she specialized in acute and chronic mental health care for diverse patient populations.

In addition to her clinical practice, Suzanne is a passionate educator, serving as a Clinical Nursing Psych Instructor at Alma College. She is committed to fostering student learning through hands-on instruction and supportive mentorship, helping students develop both technical expertise and compassionate patient care skills. Suzanne’s teaching philosophy emphasizes the integration of evidence-based psychiatric nursing practices with a deep understanding of individual patient needs, preparing students to excel in complex mental health care environments.

Suzanne is also an active member of the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA). She holds a BSN from Alma College and completed advanced training through ADM. Beyond her professional work, Suzanne volunteers at Hope House, supporting individuals in need within her community. Her career is guided by a commitment to patient advocacy, mental health education, and improving access to compassionate psychiatric care.
