Susie Dunn, RN

Susie Dunn, RN, CEO, is a distinguished healthcare professional and medical device innovator with over 34 years of nursing experience spanning critical care, cardiology, trauma, and outpatient settings across Ohio and Indiana. A graduate of Parkview Methodist School of Nursing, she holds certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). Following a highly successful clinical career, Dunn transitioned into entrepreneurship as the CEO of Susie’s Inventions LLC, a company dedicated to developing solutions that improve patient safety and advance infection prevention.

A pivotal chapter in Dunn’s career was her role as Clinical Facilitator at St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana, where she managed bed flow, staffing, and evaluations for an 80-bed cardiac unit while overseeing cardiac emergency care. Her extensive clinical leadership experience highlighted a persistent challenge in hospital care: catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs). Drawing on her hands-on knowledge of patient care, Dunn invented a patented medical device designed to enhance Foley catheter hygiene and reduce infection risk, addressing a costly and longstanding issue in healthcare.

Today, Dunn is focused on bringing this innovation to market through Susie’s Inventions LLC, collaborating with partners such as VitaTek to advance the device through trials and production. Her approach to medical innovation remains grounded in her nursing expertise, guided by feedback from clinicians who will use the device in patient care settings. Beyond her professional work, Dunn engages in creative pursuits, including writing and painting, reflecting her thoughtful and analytical nature. Her career demonstrates how bedside experience can fuel entrepreneurial vision and drive meaningful improvements in patient safety and healthcare outcomes.
