Susan Marie Palochak, BSN, RN, is a dedicated nursing professional with more than 20 years of experience providing compassionate, patient-centered healthcare. Specializing in OBGYN care for the past 15 years, she currently serves patients at Fort Defiance Indian Medical Center on the Navajo Nation, where she finds deep fulfillment in supporting women and families throughout their healthcare journeys. Susan is recognized for her strong clinical expertise, compassionate bedside manner, and commitment to improving patient outcomes through quality care and advocacy.
Susan began her nursing career after earning her Associate’s Degree in Registered Nursing from UNM-Gallup, practicing under that credential for 16 years before achieving another major milestone by completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in November 2025. Her academic accomplishments include induction into the prestigious Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and certification in fetal monitoring, reflecting her dedication to continued professional growth and excellence in women’s healthcare. Currently affiliated with TRS Staffing Solutions, Susan’s expanding qualifications have also positioned her for future leadership opportunities and her long-term goal of pursuing a master’s degree in healthcare law.
Throughout her career, Susan has remained deeply connected to service both inside and outside the healthcare setting. Her passion for nursing was first inspired during elementary school through fundraising efforts for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, experiences that sparked her lifelong desire to help others. In addition to her professional responsibilities, she actively supports her community through Relay for Life initiatives and fundraising efforts with her Catholic Church. Susan credits much of her success to the wonderful patients she has cared for and to the opportunity to serve the Navajo Nation community. Above all, she considers her three children to be her greatest source of pride and motivation, remaining her primary focus outside of her nursing career.
