Summer McDonald
Summer McDonald is a Clinical Psychology professional with a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Fort Hays State University. With a strong foundation in psychological assessment, therapy, and crisis intervention, she is dedicated to helping clients navigate interpersonal challenges and improve their overall well-being. Summer combines her clinical knowledge with practical experience gained through hands-on work in diverse mental health settings, including adult and child therapy, group sessions, and TeleVideo mental health services.
During her clinical training, Summer completed a practicum at the Kelly Center, Fort Hays State University, and an internship at High Plains Mental Health Center. In these roles, she administered, scored, and interpreted psychological assessments, assisted clients in developing coping and interpersonal skills, and documented client progress. She also contributed to treatment planning, conducted therapy sessions under supervision, and participated in crisis intervention and clinical screenings, gaining experience with a wide range of mental health conditions.
Beyond her clinical work, Summer has actively participated in community mental health initiatives and professional development activities. She served as Media Officer for the Graduate Association of Students in Psychology, presented a workshop on “Technology and Ethics in Psychology” at the Larned State Hospital Mental Health Conference, and contributed to Suicide Awareness Week and Disabilities Awareness Week events. Summer is passionate about using her expertise, empathy, and organizational skills to support clients and promote mental health awareness in her community.
