Stephanie L Akin

Stephanie Akin is a compassionate and dedicated peer support counselor currently serving as the Program Development and Outreach Manager at Reflections Counseling Service Group in Port Angeles, Washington. For the past three years, she also served as the RNP-R.E.A.L. Team Project Manager, where she played a key role in guiding individuals through personal challenges, fostering strong peer support systems, and strengthening collaborative relationships. Stephanie is deeply committed to creating safe, supportive environments that promote wellness, resilience, and long-term well-being.

Stephanie holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree from Colorado Technical University, with her graduate studies focused on Human Resources Management. This academic background complements her counseling and leadership expertise, equipping her to develop programs, lead multidisciplinary teams, and implement initiatives that enhance both participant care and organizational effectiveness. Her ability to bridge people-centered support with structured program leadership has made her a valuable asset in community-based mental health services.

Grounded in both professional training and lived experience, Stephanie brings exceptional empathy and authenticity to her work. Having overcome her own struggles with addiction and substance abuse, she celebrates over six years of sobriety alongside her husband. This personal journey deeply informs her approach to care, allowing her to connect meaningfully with those she serves. Her areas of specialization include individual counseling, substance use recovery, peer support, program development, trauma-informed care, and mental health advocacy, all driving her mission to create lasting, positive change for individuals and communities.
