Stephanie Akin is a compassionate and dedicated peer support counselor currently serving as the Program Development and Outreach Manager at Reflections Counseling Service Group in Port Angeles, Washington. For the past three years, she also served as the RNP-R.E.A.L. Having overcome her own struggles with addiction and substance abuse, she celebrates over six years of sobriety alongside her husband. This personal journey deeply informs her approach to care, allowing her to connect meaningfully with those she serves. Her areas of specialization include individual counseling, substance use recovery, peer support, program development, trauma-informed care, and mental health advocacy, all driving her mission to create lasting, positive change for individuals and communities.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

What I enjoy most about practicing medicine is helping people navigate challenges and come out stronger on the other side. There is nothing more rewarding than guiding people through difficult moments, supporting their growth, and witnessing the positive transformations that result from our work together. Being able to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life motivates me every day and reinforces my commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
