Sierra Stover, MS

Sierra Stover, MS, is a dedicated intake therapist at Youth & Family Services with a strong background in working with children and adolescents. Since beginning her clinical practice in 2020, she has developed a reputation for her compassionate, solution-focused approach, prioritizing the unique needs of each client. Sierra is committed to meeting individuals where they are, creating a safe and supportive environment free of judgment, where young people feel heard, understood, and empowered.

Specializing in trauma, Sierra is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and has additional experience in equine-assisted psychotherapy. Her work in this area is deeply personal, inspired by her own upbringing with horses and the meaningful role they played in helping her navigate life’s challenges. She is currently working toward certification in both TF-CBT and Natural Lifemanship, a trauma-focused equine-assisted therapy modality. Sierra integrates these approaches to provide innovative, relationship-based care in both individual and group settings.

Sierra earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from Black Hills State University and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health from South Dakota State University. She also operates a solo practice, where she continues to focus on trauma and equine-assisted therapy. Passionate about serving her community, Sierra is excited to continue growing in her role at Youth & Family Services and to expand access to meaningful, healing-centered care for youth and families.
