Sicily Duron, SUDCC, is a dedicated certified Substance Use Counselor at Advanced Therapeutic Services with over three years of experience supporting individuals navigating addiction and mental health challenges. She earned her Associate of Arts degree in Human Services with a minor in Psychology from San Bernardino Valley College. Sicily has worked with diverse populations, including individuals with mental health conditions, women, and she approaches her work through a compassionate, recovery-oriented lens. Grounded in the belief that every person has hope, Sicily views addiction and mental health as complex, multifaceted conditions that require empathy, patience, and individualized care. She is known for her kind, nonjudgmental approach and her commitment to being a steady, supportive presence in her clients’ recovery journeys. Sicily strives to create a safe and affirming environment where individuals feel seen, respected, and empowered to move toward lasting change. Outside of her professional role, Sicily is a former athlete who competed in softball, soccer, and swimming, experiences that shaped her discipline, resilience, and team-oriented mindset. She values balance, connection, and enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, three-year-old child and six-month-old twins. These personal experiences continue to inform her holistic approach to care, reinforcing the importance of support, perseverance, and compassion both inside and outside the counseling setting.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

What I enjoy most about my work as a substance use counselor is being able to walk alongside individuals during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. Supporting people through addiction and mental health challenges and reminding them that hope is always possible is deeply meaningful to me.
