Sheila Melody Berja, BSN, RN
Sheila Melody Berja, BSN, RN, is a highly experienced and dedicated registered nurse with over 21 years of service in the healthcare field. Originally from the Philippines, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Universidad de Sta. Isabel in 2004 before relocating to Orlando, Florida, in 2008. Since then, she has been a valued member of the AdventHealth Emergency Department, where she has built a distinguished reputation for her clinical expertise, compassionate patient care, and leadership in high-acuity settings. In addition to her clinical role, Sheila serves as Co-Chair of the Emergency Department Unit Practice Council, where she collaborates with nursing leadership to improve workflows, implement best practices, and enhance the overall quality of patient care.
Alongside her full-time position at AdventHealth, Sheila also serves part time as a Charge Nurse at HCA Healthcare, providing guidance and mentorship to nursing staff while ensuring the delivery of safe and effective emergency care. She is an active member of the Emergency Nurses Association, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to professional development and excellence in emergency nursing. Currently pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing at Purdue University Global, with anticipated completion in 2027, Sheila continues to strengthen her leadership and clinical capabilities to make an even greater impact in the healthcare field.
Inspired by her parents, both accomplished nurses with her mother now retired and her father still in practice, Sheila has always been guided by compassion and a deep sense of purpose. She finds profound fulfillment in helping patients recover, regain their health, and return to their families. Looking ahead, she hopes within five years to open her own practice and become a Nurse Practitioner in the field of psychiatric and mental health, aiming to support individuals struggling with mental health challenges—a critical area where help is greatly needed. Through her empathy, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to continuous improvement, Sheila exemplifies the core values of nursing and remains a respected and compassionate leader within AdventHealth and the broader medical community.
