Shatondre Williams-Henfield, MSN-Ed, RN, CMSRN
Shatondre Williams-Henfield is a dedicated Registered Nurse with nearly two decades of experience in acute care, specializing in medical-surgical and neurological nursing. Currently practicing with Baptist Health, she is known for her clinical precision, keen attention to detail, and ability to recognize subtle changes in patient conditions to ensure timely, effective interventions. Throughout her career, she has consistently delivered high-quality, patient-centered care while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes, reduce readmissions, and enhance overall patient satisfaction.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Shatondre has a strong passion for education and mentorship. She recently earned her Master of Science in Nursing Education from Chamberlain College of Nursing and currently serves as a Nursing Instructor at Keiser University. In this role, she provides hands-on clinical instruction, supports the development of critical thinking and clinical judgment, and mentors the next generation of nurses. Her long-standing commitment to precepting and training new nurses—spanning over 18 years—has positioned her as both a trusted clinical leader and an emerging force in nursing education.
Shatondre’s journey into nursing was inspired early in life by witnessing compassionate caregiving within her own family, a foundation that continues to guide her practice today. While she initially considered a career in pediatrics, she ultimately found her calling in caring for adult and geriatric populations, where she could balance clinical excellence with emotional resilience. As a Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN), she remains committed to lifelong learning and professional growth. Looking ahead, Shatondre plans to expand her impact in academia, focusing on educating and empowering future nurses while continuing to uphold the highest standards of care.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
I really enjoy educating new nurses. I've been mentoring and precepting graduate nurses for 18 of my 19 years as a nurse, and that's when I knew my calling had to be educating others because I was always in the training position. I've been in the education field for four and a half months now teaching Fundamentals of Nursing and Pharmacology at Keiser University's Miami campus, and I hope to continue to grow in this role. I never feel like it's a burden when family members call with questions about prescriptions or health concerns. I welcome it all because I'd rather them do it safely than not do it at all. I believe I was born to do this, and I enjoy it.
