Sharon Sharp
Sharon Sharp is a highly experienced registered nurse with 26 years of clinical practice, licensed since 1999. She currently specializes in wound care at Vivo Normandy, a long-term skilled nursing facility in Jacksonville, Florida, where she focuses on comprehensive wound assessment, initiating preliminary treatment plans, and emphasizing prevention as a cornerstone of patient care. In her role, she evaluates new admissions, manages ongoing wound care needs, and collaborates with advanced practice providers to ensure continuity and quality of treatment for medically complex patients. Over the course of her career, Sharon has gained extensive experience across a wide range of specialties, including pulmonary care, telemetry, intensive care unit nursing, medical-surgical nursing, and long-term care. She has worked with major healthcare systems in Jacksonville, including Baptist Hospital and St. Vincent’s Hospital, building a broad and well-rounded clinical foundation. What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
I am in charge of assessing wounds and determining what kind of treatments, preliminary treatments until my NP comes in. I change them every day and check all my new people when they come in. I do a lot of preventative things - I'm all about prevention. I actually love nursing. I think I love it more than I would have ever been being a doctor, because I get to provide more of that bedside care and help educate my patients.
