Shadia Ibrahim, MA, LMHC
Shadia Ibrahim, MA, LMHC is a highly skilled and dedicated licensed clinical mental health therapist and social studies educator based in Valparaiso, Indiana. With more than a decade of experience in psychotherapy, she has devoted her career to helping individuals navigate complex emotional and psychological challenges, including mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, women’s issues, eating disorders, and concerns affecting the LGBTQ community. She has held a variety of roles in both residential and outpatient mental health settings and currently maintains a thriving private practice in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, offering compassionate, culturally sensitive care in both English and Arabic.
Shadia brings extensive experience in higher education, having taught at the college level for 12 years and developed her own course in Cultural Anthropology. She holds two bachelor’s degrees from Purdue University and two master’s degrees from Valparaiso University one in Clinical Mental Health and another in Human Behavior and Society. As a published author, her undergraduate research paper Is Russia On the Verge of Another Revolution? appeared in the Indiana Undergraduate Research Journal, reflecting her scholarly interests and commitment to research. Fluent in Arabic and proficient in French and Russian, Shadia combines her academic expertise with a deep understanding of cultural diversity to provide thoughtful, individualized care to her clients.
Passionate about empowering women ages 17 and older, Shadia creates a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental therapeutic environment where clients can explore their challenges, build resilience, and discover their voice. She employs evidence-based approaches, including Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to guide clients toward meaningful, lasting change. Outside of her professional work, Shadia enjoys hiking, walking, traveling, reading, and exploring films, reflecting her lifelong dedication to personal growth, learning, and cultural exploration.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I enjoy most about practicing is supporting and empowering females ages 17 and older as they navigate depression, anxiety, women’s issues, eating disorders, and trauma. I provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients of all races, cultures, and sexual orientations can explore the challenges affecting their growth. My goal is to help each client find their voice and build the tools to thrive.
