Dr. Sarah Houdashelt, DNP, APRN, AGACNP-BC, is a highly skilled Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with eight years of experience in emergency and critical care. She currently serves at Green Country Physicians Group, delivering comprehensive urgent care across multiple hospitals for patients aged 13 and older. In her role, Dr. Houdashelt manages a wide range of acute and complex medical conditions, demonstrating expertise in rapid assessment, evidence-based interventions, and collaborative care planning. Dr. Houdashelt’s journey into acute care nursing began early. While still in high school, she was inspired by her neighbor, an ER nurse who served as a mentor and second mother, exposing her to the fast-paced, impactful world of emergency medicine. During her senior year, she participated in a work-study program that allowed her to spend half of her school day shadowing her neighbor at the hospital. This formative experience ignited her passion for medicine and confirmed her desire to pursue a career in emergency nursing. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Florida, gaining practical experience on a Level Two Trauma Center floor, where she developed her skills in critical care and patient advocacy.

Committed to advancing her expertise, Dr. Houdashelt completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Florida State University and earned board certification as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Her training and clinical experience have equipped her to handle high-acuity patients, navigate complex care scenarios, and mentor colleagues in best practices.
