Dr. Robert Charles Kramer, MD, FAAOS, CAQ is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery, specializing in the care and surgical treatment of the wrist, hand, and elbow. He serves as a leader of a world-class hand care team at the Beaumont Bone & Joint Institute in Beaumont, Texas, where he has been providing exceptional care for over 25 years.

Dr. Kramer is nationally and locally recognized for his surgical expertise, particularly in treating athletes, musicians, and others who require precise hand and upper extremity care. He is the team physician for Westbrook High School and Lamar University, providing specialized orthopedic care to athletes at all levels.

He completed his undergraduate studies at University of Colorado at Boulder, followed by his medical degree at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. He completed a General Surgery Internship and Orthopedic Surgery Residency at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, followed by a Hand Surgery Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.

He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Texas Orthopaedic Association, and Jefferson County Medical Association. His hospital affiliations include Baptist Hospital and CHRISTUS Hospital – St. Elizabeth. Dr. Kramer has been recognized among Best Doctors in Texas (2014) and has contributed to research and publications, including work on syndactyly and Kienböck’s disease.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

I find the operating room to be my sanctuary. It’s where I feel most focused and able to make a direct impact on my patients’ health and function. Performing surgery allows me to combine precision, skill, and careful decision-making to help people regain their quality of life.
