Rhonda Martinez is a seasoned nurse practitioner and active-duty officer with the United States Public Health Service, bringing over 35 years of experience in clinical, administrative, and consulting roles. She currently serves in a soldier and military clinic in Washington State, providing direct care while also addressing broader public health initiatives. Rhonda has spent more than two decades as a commissioned officer, focusing on functional medicine, internal medicine, and women’s health, while dedicating her career to underserved populations and reducing healthcare disparities.

Throughout her career, Rhonda has emphasized community outreach, education, and preventive care. She works as a consultant and Family Nurse Practitioner, volunteering to provide care for underserved communities, supporting structural changes in tribal and urban clinics, and offering programs such as drug prevention outreach, Narcan training, and infection-prevention education. Her professional philosophy is rooted in cultural and traditional values, with a commitment to caring for people holistically and “healing past and future generations.”

Rhonda earned her BSN from Washington State University, her MSN in Nursing Education from the University of Phoenix, and a post-master’s Family Nurse Practitioner certificate from Graceland University. She is an active member of the Washington State Nursing Association, the American Nurses Association, and the Puget Sound Association of Nursing. Outside of work, Rhonda enjoys spending time on the water paddleboarding, hiking, biking, and swimming, maintaining a balanced and active lifestyle while staying connected to nature.

What I enjoy most about practicing medicine is my passion for helping others. Being able to make a meaningful difference in people’s health, well-being, and quality of life is deeply rewarding and motivates me every day.
