Regina’s clinical experience spans dialysis, long-term care, corrections facilities, hospital units, and internal medicine clinics. She identifies as a geriatric nurse at heart but has found a particular passion in dialysis nursing. Regina plans to pursue certification as a Certified Dialysis Nurse and is exploring further specialization in nephrology. Her patients and colleagues alike appreciate her meticulous attention to detail and the trust she builds, especially in long-term care settings where she often becomes a consistent and comforting presence.

Guided by empathy and the principle of treating others as she would want to be treated, Regina approaches every patient interaction with compassion and integrity. Beyond her direct patient care, Regina is committed to education and mentorship. She aspires to teach CNA programs, sharing her knowledge, experience, and passion with the next generation of caregivers. Her focus on teaching reflects her belief that nurturing future healthcare professionals strengthens the broader nursing community.

For Regina, nursing is far more than a career — it is a calling. Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

What I enjoy most about nursing is the relationships I build with my patients and their families. I'm very blessed that I have a vocation where it's easy to go to work. My patients love me, I love them, it's not hard. When you like what you do and you're good at it, you just know that your patients appreciate you, and that's all that matters to me. Especially in long-term care, sometimes you're the only family that some of the residents have because you notice that they don't get family visits. You develop a bond where it's more than just you taking care of them - they become like your family. You're working a lot, so you're sometimes with them more than your own family. I've had families let me know how much they appreciate me because they can't do what I'm doing. The hospitality part of getting into the field came easy for me because I worked in hotels, so I could always comfort and care for people. That made it easy to go into the nursing field.
