Raphael Malik
Raphael Malik is a licensed pharmacist with over two decades of experience in the field, having practiced since 2001. He earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from St. John’s University in Jamaica, New York, graduating magna cum laude and ranking third in his class. His academic achievements were supported by the Walgreens Merit Scholarship, reflecting his early commitment to excellence in pharmacy and patient care.
He currently serves as a Clinical Pharmacist at ShopRite Pharmacy, where he specializes in Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and immunizations, with a strong focus on direct patient care, counseling, and health education. In this role, he oversees prescription dispensing, ensures regulatory compliance, and manages pharmacy operations including controlled substances, inventory control, and medication safety initiatives. Raphael maintains his professional credentials through ongoing continuing education, completing approximately 30 hours every two years in accordance with state requirements.
Raphael is deeply committed to making pharmacy more accessible, practical, and patient-centered. He is launching a YouTube channel, The 5-Minute Pharmacist, designed to simplify and share the latest pharmacy news in under five minutes, with plans to expand into monthly live sessions where patients can ask medication-related questions and receive professional guidance. Outside of pharmacy, he is pursuing a commercial real estate license and has a strong interest in writing, including developing concepts for television and other creative media projects.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
I went to school to help people and bring real value into patients' hands. What I really want to do is put pharmacists in a setting where they can do what they went to school for, what they got a magna cum laude for. When you're doing something that you went to school for and publishing it on a platform to help people, then you put the power back with you and you help people and have more meaningful impact, rather than the basic dispensing. I see that if pharmacists can break down the latest pharmacy news in under 5 minutes, you have quick, concise information. I want to expand this into a monthly live call where I take questions on medications or recalls, so patients don't have to run to the pharmacy when the pharmacist is too busy to answer their questions.
