Rachelle Scott, MPAS, PA-C
Rachelle Scott, MPAS, PA-C, is a highly experienced physician assistant with over 23 years of clinical practice in Pennsylvania. She currently serves as the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Supervisor for the South region at Allegheny Health Network, overseeing a team of 30 advanced practice providers, including nurse practitioners and physician assistants. In this leadership role, she manages hiring, onboarding, mentorship, and professional development, fostering a collaborative and high-performing clinical environment.
Rachelle began her clinical career in physiatry and pain management before transitioning to primary care, where she has been affiliated with Jefferson Hospital for the past nine years. Her early experiences reflect both her clinical skill and her pioneering spirit, as she was among the first APPs at Jefferson Hospital during a time when physician assistants faced limited recognition and professional autonomy. Over the course of her career, she has witnessed and contributed to significant growth and evolution in the APP profession.
Her educational journey demonstrates her commitment to excellence and lifelong learning. Rachelle earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Biology and Neuroscience from Mercyhurst University, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Seton Hill University, and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She is now pursuing a Doctor of Medical Science degree at the University of Pittsburgh, reflecting her dedication to advancing her clinical expertise and leadership capabilities.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I enjoy most about practicing medicine is knowing that I put good into the world every day and truly make a difference in people’s lives. Lately, what brings me the greatest fulfillment is educating and mentoring the next generation of physician assistants and nurse practitioners. In my supervisory role, I have the privilege of interviewing, hiring, onboarding, managing, and mentoring 30 APPs across the South region. Guiding these providers and helping them grow in their careers gives me a sense of purpose that goes beyond direct patient care.
