Rachel Smith-Roseboro, CNA
Rachel is a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with 17 years of experience in long-term care and geriatrics. She currently works at Willow Ridge in Rutherford, North Carolina, and was recently rehired at Palmetto Patriots Home in Gaffney, South Carolina, where she provides care for veterans. Throughout her career, Rachel has developed extensive experience assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and supporting the physical and emotional well-being of her patients.
Rachel is currently pursuing her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license, having completed her prerequisites and double-majored in CNA1 and CNA2 at Cleveland Community College in Shelby, North Carolina. She is about to begin clinical rotations at a hospital, building on her practical experience with hands-on patient care. Her commitment to ongoing education demonstrates her dedication to advancing her skills and providing the highest quality care to her patients.
Passionate about mentorship and teamwork, Rachel actively supports new CNAs, teaching them the importance of asking for help and caring for the entire facility, not just assigned patients. What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I enjoy most is helping people and mentoring new CNAs. I try to pass along the guidance I received from the experienced CNAs when I was starting out because I remember how nervous I was and how much I needed support. When I see a new team member, I make it clear that it’s okay to ask for help whenever they need it. I believe that working in a facility means taking care of the whole environment, not just your assigned patients—if someone needs a drink or assistance, I make sure they get it. For me, compassion and teamwork are at the heart of caregiving, and I want every patient and colleague to feel that sense of care and responsibility.
