Rachel Anna Smith, LPC, lCDC
Rachel Anna Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) with over 19 years of experience supporting children, teens, and families. She is the founder and owner of Inspiring Dreams Counseling, a private practice she has operated for 6–7 years. Prior to establishing her practice, Rachel spent 13 years with Lubbock ISD’s Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) program, working closely with young children and their families. Her expertise includes anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, and addiction recovery, and she is trauma certified and a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA).
Rachel was inspired to pursue counseling due to her personal experiences growing up feeling unheard, which fueled her passion for giving children and adolescents a voice and a safe space to express themselves. Her approach integrates professional training with Christian faith, providing a holistic framework that supports emotional healing, personal growth, and practical problem-solving. She emphasizes that lasting change occurs when clients are heard, understood, and empowered to make positive decisions for their lives.
At Inspiring Dreams Counseling, Rachel creates a safe, compassionate, and authentic environment where clients can explore their emotions and challenges. She employs evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) alongside faith-informed guidance to help clients build coping skills, resilience, and confidence. Her practice focuses on children ages three and up, adolescents, and some adults, including individuals transitioning out of treatment programs. Rachel specializes in addressing anxiety, depression, peer pressure, self-esteem, behavioral concerns, and addiction recovery, guiding clients to recognize their strengths and apply practical strategies to overcome obstacles.
Outside of her professional work, Rachel enjoys traveling, walking on the beach in Myrtle Beach, cooking and baking, and running a dog-sitting business. Her experiences living across the United States, including Denver, Minnesota, and her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, have broadened her perspective and enriched her practice. Rachel remains committed to helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges with hope, courage, and resilience, offering guidance and support for meaningful, lasting change.
