Nickolas Blonien, DO
Dr. Nickolas Blonien is a board-certified occupational medicine physician based in the Greater Milwaukee area, where he practices with Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Community Physicians. He is dedicated to advancing Total Worker Health by integrating occupational and environmental medicine with lifestyle medicine, helping organizations improve workforce safety, productivity, and long-term sustainability. With expertise spanning nutrition, fitness, and environmental health, Dr. Blonien brings a comprehensive, prevention-focused approach to modern workplace healthcare.
Dr. Blonien’s path into medicine was shaped by an early aspiration to become a firefighter. After gaining hands-on experience as an EMT and emergency department technician, he discovered a deeper calling in medicine. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2016, with his education supported by the U.S. Navy. He then served as a Medical Officer from 2016 to 2021, completing his internship at Naval Medical Center San Diego and providing care in diverse and high-demand environments.
Following his military service, Dr. Blonien completed his Occupational Medicine Residency and earned a Master of Public Health through the University of Minnesota. He went on to practice with HealthPartners before returning to Wisconsin, where he continues his work today. Passionate about firefighter health, he has contributed to public speaking and research in this area, combining his personal interests with his professional mission. As a member of both the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, Dr. Blonien remains committed to improving the health and well-being of working populations.
