Nathan Farkas
Dr. Nathan Farkas is an accomplished Endovascular Surgical Neurologist and Neuro Interventionalist specializing in minimally invasive, catheter-based, and image-guided treatments for complex brain and spine vascular disorders. His clinical focus includes acute ischemic stroke, cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, and intracranial atherosclerotic disease. Driven by precision, innovation, and evidence-based practice, Dr. Farkas is deeply committed to advancing the field of neurovascular care and improving outcomes for patients facing life-threatening neurologic emergencies.
As a member of Interventional Neuro Associates, Dr. Farkas delivers high-acuity neuro interventional services across a broad regional hospital network. His clinical practice spans major institutions including NYU Langone Health, Hackensack University Medical Center, St. Francis Hospital, Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, Richmond University Medical Center, Jersey City Medical Center, and affiliates of the Prime Hospital Group. Through this extensive coverage, he helps ensure timely access to advanced stroke intervention and neuro-emergency care around the clock, bringing specialized expertise to diverse patient populations.
Dr. Farkas’ academic and clinical training reflects a deep dedication to mastering the full spectrum of cerebrovascular medicine. He completed his neurology residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University in St. Louis, one of the nation’s premier centers for neuroscience and tertiary neurologic care. He subsequently pursued fellowship training in Cerebrovascular Neurology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, a nationally recognized leader in stroke research and clinical excellence.
He further refined his expertise through an Endovascular Neuroradiology fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center, where he gained extensive experience performing complex endovascular procedures. This comprehensive training across neurology, radiology, and surgical disciplines allows Dr. Farkas to approach each case with a multidisciplinary perspective, tailoring advanced interventions to the unique needs of each patient.
Inspired by a family legacy in medicine, Dr. Farkas carries forward values instilled early in life, including dedication to patients, clinical integrity, and a continual pursuit of excellence. His father’s influence within the neurovascular field played a formative role in shaping his career path, a legacy Dr. Farkas honors through compassionate care and ongoing innovation in treatment. What I enjoy most about practicing medicine is the privilege of being able to care for patients and make a meaningful difference in their lives. It is both an honor and a responsibility to apply my skills and knowledge to support individuals through some of their most vulnerable moments, and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to their health and well-being every day.
