Murlaine Jean-Baptiste, BA, BSN, MEDSURG-BC, is a dedicated medical-surgical nurse and Assistant Nurse Manager at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. She provides operational oversight for a high-acuity unit, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care while supporting staff development, coordinating patient flow, and promoting adherence to safety and quality standards. Known for her hands-on leadership and compassionate approach, she fosters a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professional growth among her nursing staff.
Since beginning her nursing career in 2019, Murlaine has built a broad hospital-based nursing foundation, progressing from patient care associate and telemetry monitor technician to registered nurse and now assistant nurse manager. Her expertise includes patient-centered care, clinical operations, and staff mentoring, with a focus on fall prevention, line and drain safety, infection control, and enhancing both patient outcomes and team performance. She emphasizes clear, consistent, and compassionate leadership, aiming to cultivate supportive environments that empower bedside nurses and improve retention.
Murlaine earned her Associate degree in Nursing from Brookdale Community College in 2017 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Thomas Edison State University around 2020. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health at University of Arizona Global Campus. She holds Medical-Surgical Nursing board certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, reflecting her commitment to clinical excellence, operational leadership, and advancing the practice of nursing.

What I enjoy most about practicing medicine is the opportunity to build meaningful connections with my patients and their families. Developing trust and rapport allows me to provide care that is compassionate, personalized, and truly centered on each patient’s needs. These relationships are the most rewarding part of my work, as they create a supportive environment where patients and families feel confident and cared for throughout their healthcare journey.
