Michelle Howell, LPN

Michelle Howell is a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse who has been serving patients since graduating from the Practical Nursing program at Mineral Area College in 2008. Based in Farmington, Missouri, Michelle has built her career on compassion, clinical excellence, and a deep commitment to patient-centered care. Over the years, she has gained experience in internal medicine, cardiology, home health, and memory care — each role strengthening her critical thinking skills and reinforcing her belief that nursing is more than a profession; it is part of who she is.

Today, Michelle serves as the Nursing Manager at Dolan Memory Care Homes – Frontier Manor, where she primarily cares for geriatric residents living with cognitive decline. Dolan Memory Care Homes operates 17 residences across the St. Louis area and has been recognized for excellence in memory care. While stationed at Frontier Manor, Michelle also supports other locations when on call. She finds profound fulfillment in working with the geriatric population, valuing the life lessons, stories, and resilience her residents share. Memory care, she believes, requires patience, empathy, creativity, and grace — qualities she brings to her leadership and bedside care alike.

As a nurse leader, Michelle strives to create a home-like environment where residents feel safe, respected, and valued, and where staff members feel supported and appreciated. She leads with kindness and integrity, advocating fiercely for the dignity of every individual entrusted to her care. For Michelle, nursing is about connection — being present in difficult moments, celebrating small victories, and caring for others as she would her own family. Outside of work, she enjoys riding her motorcycle and spending time with her German Shepherd, bringing the same spirit of dedication and warmth to her personal life as she does to her profession.
