Michele Hensley, MSN, RN, CIC, is an accomplished infection prevention specialist and healthcare leader with extensive experience in hospital and healthcare systems. With over 10 years in the field, she has dedicated her career to improving patient safety and reducing hospital-acquired infections through evidence-based practices. Michele currently serves as Interim Infection Prevention Nurse Specialist at Mercy San Juan Medical Center and is the owner of Hensley LLC, a consulting practice focused on helping healthcare facilities implement organizational-wide infection prevention strategies. Michele’s clinical expertise spans infection control, patient safety, and healthcare quality improvement. She has successfully led initiatives that reduced rates of Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTI), Catheter-Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSI), Clostridioides difficile infections (CDI), and Surgical Site Infections (SSI). Skilled in data management, clinical training, and policy development, Michele combines technical proficiency with strong leadership to support healthcare teams in achieving measurable outcomes and fostering a culture of safety. A lifelong learner and educator, Michele earned her Master of Science in Nursing Education and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington, as well as a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from California State University–San Bernardino. She is a Certified Infection Preventionist (CIC) and actively shares her knowledge through professional advocacy, speaking engagements, and thought leadership on platforms like LinkedIn.
