What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I loved most about practicing medicine was being able to help people, especially in critical situations. It was incredibly rewarding when patients experienced cardiovascular issues or heart attacks. I would be right there, using ultrasound to show the doctors exactly where the heart’s wall motion wasn’t working properly, allowing them to quickly administer medications or go to the cath lab and stent the affected area. Seeing the immediate impact of my work on patient care was extremely satisfying. I took pride in capturing high-quality images so the doctors could make the best decisions. I also had a particular passion for pediatrics. Working with little children, from toddlers to neonates, was both fun and meaningful. Helping fragile 500-gram babies survive was one of the most special and memorable aspects of my career.
