Michael Gebetsberger, MD
Michael Gebetsberger, MD, is a board-certified internist with more than 25 years of experience providing comprehensive, patient-centered medical care. Since beginning his medical career in 1997, he has dedicated himself to internal medicine, focusing on improving patients’ quality of life through attentive listening, thoughtful clinical judgment, and evidence-based treatment. Dr. Gebetsberger is known for his patient-first philosophy, ensuring that individuals feel heard, respected, and empowered to take an active role in their health.
In addition to his outpatient practice, Dr. Gebetsberger has served as a part-time hospitalist for several years, gaining extensive experience managing complex inpatient conditions. His combined experience in both clinic and hospital settings allows him to approach patient care with a well-rounded perspective, addressing a wide spectrum of medical concerns while maintaining a holistic view of long-term wellness and disease prevention.
Dr. Gebetsberger has a special clinical interest in metabolic health, including the management of diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and related vascular complications. He strongly emphasizes preventive medicine and sustainable lifestyle interventions, encouraging patients to adopt healthier habits in nutrition, physical activity, and daily routines. He has also devoted significant attention to cognitive health, particularly the care of patients living with Alzheimer’s disease, and previously served as chairman of the scientific committee for the Alzheimer’s Association.
Committed to education as well as patient care, Dr. Gebetsberger has mentored third-year medical students and medical residents for more than two decades. He earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and completed internships and residencies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, the University of Kansas, and the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine–Tulsa. Fluent in English and Spanish, he continues to serve patients in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he focuses on compassionate care, chronic disease management, and promoting long-term health and wellbeing. Outside of medicine, he enjoys cycling, traveling, and exploring new cultures with his wife.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I enjoy most about practicing medicine is the opportunity to connect with patients and help them improve their health and quality of life. Being able to guide someone through a challenging diagnosis or support them in managing a chronic condition is incredibly rewarding. I find it fulfilling to witness the positive impact that attentive, personalized care can have on a patient’s well-being.
